Become A Pro In The Dentist’s Chair

Hey, y'all! Katie here. I wrangled William and made him spill some of his best secrets for making your time in the chair as smooth as possible, because whether it's your first visit with us or your fiftieth, a little inside knowledge goes a long way! So here are his favorite tips for feeling like a total pro at your next appointment.

Put that suction to work. See that little straw-like tool hanging out in your mouth? That's the suction, and William says you're more than welcome to help it out! Go ahead and gently spit into it to speed things along and keep your mouth nice and clean.

Keep your head nice and still. Our team works with precision tools in a small space, so the best thing you can do is relax and keep your head steady. If they need you to turn or shift, they'll let you know. Otherwise, just settle in!

Cold? Just ask. Dental offices have tend to run a touch chilly (I'm guilty of keeping ours cool!). If you'd be more comfortable under a cozy blanket, all you have to do is ask!

Silence that phone. We've all been there: that buzz or ring right in the middle of a cleaning. Do yourself (and us!) a favor and pop your phone on silent before things get started.

Bring your tunes! Got a favorite playlist or podcast? Bring your headphones along and listen away. A little music can make the whole experience melt right by.

Ask away. This one's the most important, and William and I can't stress it enough: if you ever wonder what's going on or why, please ask! We're here to help you understand what's happening and to make sure you feel comfortable every step of the way. There are no silly questions in this office, we promise.

That's it! Master these and you'll be the most relaxed patient in the chair. We can't wait to see you (and your smile) soon!
