What to Expect at Your First Visit

Hey, y'all! Katie here. I know that walking into a dentist's office, especially if it's been a while, can feel a little intimidating. But I want to put your mind at ease: there is truly nothing to be scared of! To take the mystery out of it, let me walk you through exactly what a typical first visit with us looks like.

First up, a few pictures. Our wonderful dental assistants, Emily and Alyssa, will take some digital images of your teeth. This gives us a clear picture of what's going on and how everything looks!

Let's chat about your goals. Next, William or I will sit down with you and talk through what you're hoping for. Your smile is personal, and we want to hear what matters most to you before we go any further.

A look at the big picture. We'll do a short extra-oral exam. That just means we take a look outside your mouth, at your jaw and the surrounding area. It's quick and painless!

A peek inside. Then we'll take a look inside your mouth at any previous dental work you've had done, so we know exactly where things stand.

Checking in on your gums. Healthy gums are the foundation of a healthy smile, so we'll check on their health too. It's an important piece of the puzzle!

Putting it all together. Finally, we take everything we've gathered and put together a few different plans for you. Then we'll talk through them together and land on whatever works best for you and your goals.
